Oysters used to be cheaper than meat so were a staple protein for poor people, put in to make it go further.

Just realised that I forgot to mention that we sat next to Stephen Marchant who plays Darren the manager in Extras!

Ricky Gervais' sidekick.

and who co-wrote the Office.

[hi Sophable! Will find your thread. Sorry for hijack.]

Ok. My hubby wants to know, did you come out and feel like you'd actually had something to eat!! Or were they tiny weeny portions that a toddler would eat and still feel hungry?

Sixofone · 13/08/2007 13:47

btw, don't think that's an outrageous price at all for a decent meal. Ideally would like a few glasses of wine in there for that price myself but can't have everything

fleacircus · 13/08/2007 16:24

Yum... DP and I keep talking about spending a weekend in Bray and eating in all the lovely places but in a 'when we're a bit better off' kind of a way. Maybe a landmark anniversary! How far in advance did you book the pub?

mosschops30 · 13/08/2007 16:34

dh would love to go here and we both watched his tv series.
I always worry that I'm not going to want to eat anything though, cant see me eating rabbit or kidneys
