I know this thread was done a while ago, but I thought I'd resurrect it. As we've got into the same cycle of meals rut again, and I need inspiration! So, what are you having??!

OP posts:
Northerner · 21/09/2004 16:19

I'm at work but have just spoken to my dh who has made a lamb casserole with mashed potato.

littlemissbossy · 21/09/2004 16:22

chicken chasseur

pupuce · 21/09/2004 16:23

Sausages, courgettes, apple puree (from tree in garden), potatoes - and as a "starter" raw carrot.

butterflymum · 21/09/2004 16:26

Chicken Fajitas all round.

Hubby and me will have chicken, peppers, mushroom, spices and salsa in ours. Boys find that too hot so will have chicken, peppers, mushroom, diced carrot, sweetcorn and 'bisto' chicken gravy in theirs.

Usually goes down a treat. Sometimes make with steak instead and for boys, vary vegetables according to what I have in.

butterfly (getting hungry thinking about it)

butterflymum · 21/09/2004 16:27

Oops, forgot to include 'onion' in my list (ours and boys)!

fio2 · 21/09/2004 16:30

pot noodles

Gosh - how cool if your kids will eat all those healthy things.

Mine will probably have sausages, smiles and peas. OR I might do them tuna pasta with spinach in which is healthy.

Me and DH might have something out as we are going shopping to a big M&S that's open till 10pm while Mum babysits - it's the only time we have to go and DH needs a suit for wedding this Friday.

Quote - "how cool if your kids will eat all those healthy things".

It is amazing what they will eat if they can wrap it all up inside a tortilla...out of sight, out of mind methinks!

suedonim · 21/09/2004 16:38

Loin of ham, roasted veg (peppers, onion, courgette etc) and baby potatoes. I'll have parsley sauce, everyone else will have yucky gravy.

Chandra · 21/09/2004 16:40

Inferiorettes - at their childminder. Me - probably ratatouille out of our freezer, and maybe some roquefort cheese I've been eyeing all day, with pitta bread or toast.

biketastic · 21/09/2004 17:28

hah, aduki bean stew with mash and gren beans.
and ds will have squash and lentil soup with a side order of toast and green beans.
Healthiness will then be negated by eating cup cakes that i cooked toady!

DelGirl · 21/09/2004 17:33

Fish pie and veg. Very inspiring!!!

Cadbury · 21/09/2004 17:38

Home made vegetable and lentil soup and wholemeal bread. And afterwards I shall dream of sticky toffee pudding and double cream while my tummy rumbles.

Home-made roasted vegetable lasagne. Made a double quantity on a weekend a few weeks ago and froze this one. A godsend on a day when I had a meeting that didn't start til 4 and dh is fetching dd from the nursery.

Thinking about doing some kind of South-Beach-Diet-friendly stir fry, with some pork and asparagus that's sitting in my fridge.

bundle · 21/09/2004 17:58

oh god, will have to defrost something probably to make basis of pasta when get in. have some frozen prawns, i think.

MancMum · 21/09/2004 18:00

I had watercress, grilled bacon and pine nut salad with no dressing or bread... on diet so not very inspiring.

Kids had baked beans, roast organic chicken and lots of fruit for dessert

Today was a can't be bothered to cook much but seems healthy enough...
