Where can I get it? I want some for a cake I want to make. Yes I know, I'll probably never make it again and it's mad to buy a weird ingredient for one recipe and then leave it festering at the back of your cupboard for yonks (with the capers and the semolina and the tin of black treacle) but this cake looks yummy.

Couldn't find it at Tesco - is it a chemist-y thing like liquid glucose (yes, I had a bottle of that too, for Delia's chocolate torte...)?

you probably find it at your local health food shop or if you want to buy online try www.herbsgardenhealth.com

I buy it from chemist shops , sometimes they have to order it in, and I also use it in cakes. it is delicious. Make sure you don't buy it with added cod liver oil, the taste shines through.
