Of course, forgot to mention that Pasta is THE favourite. She has never had it with Pesto though, will try it.
Fish cakes - shop bought? God, I hope so.

You'll probably but I gave ds toast fingers with almond butter or cashew nut butter sometimes - no history of nut allergies in family and avoided peanut butter.

marmite on toast
sardines on toast
pizze topiings on toast/muffin/mini pizza bases

My 9 month old eats peanut butter on toast (no history of allergy)

Toast with cream cheese and high fruit jam
Grated Cheese sandwich
Beans on toast
Toast with mashed banana with the rest of banana in chunks/strips
DS also eats risotto (and other rices) and mashed potato as finger food (along with veg/protein)

Crumpets (a bit salty though)

I am reanimating this thread because I wonder if we have some newer ideas? My premature DTs are still stuck on purees at 15 months (1 year corrected) and I would love to give them food they can manage on their own. Taken together they can do toast and peanut butter or cream cheese, and the odd bit of fruit, but that's more or less it. However, one is happy to try things and can manage them well, but the other is quickly becoming fussy and refuses eggs, anything too textured, most green things incl avocado, (recently) banana, and so on. They will both eat lots of bread and the fussy one still wakes for bottles in the night, 2 or 3 times: it's very hard to get him back to sleep without them. They both show signs of wanting to feed themselves, eg grabbing the spoon, but often we have to eat out and about and I can't bear the thought of cleaning and drying and refitting their pram sleeping bags every night. So I'd love your ideas for portable, fairly clean finger food for 1 year olds with 6 teeth each, that are manageable for a fussy eater but not restricting for an interested one. Thanks!

Cracker bread is great for a quick snack, quick, easy and no mess

Mine used to love slices of well cooked omelette

savoury pancakes are incredibly easy to make, loads of options of what to put in them, and pretty much mess free.
