Jam makers - need advice

I'm a novice jam maker and find it curiously satisfying . I have a huge glut of plums and there's no way I have the time right now to turn it all into jam before the fruit turns.

I was wondering if I stewed the fruit then froze it, could I thaw this later and make jam from it?

Logic tells me this should be OK but I was wondering if the freeze/thaw would affect the end product.

Many thanks.

Don't know but I have frozen my blackcurrants(without stewing)from the garden for jam making when I get round to it.

I would freeze them as they are and defrost them for jam making.
