BABY LED WEANING FROM 6 MONTHS- WHAT SOLIDS?

My baby is 6 months old this weekend (exclusively breast fed too)& we are going to start her on solids alongside continuing breastfeeding - skipping the slop (baby rice and purees)encouraging her to pick up food and put it into her mouth herself. Soft veg - broccoli, cauli, carrot etc and fruit - banana etc. Water from a cup - not using anything with teets. Wish us luck! Any tips from someone who has already done this please!

Hi, I have had a bash at this. Ripe apricots & peaches are good as she enjoys squashing them and they are mushy enough to chew. Pita breads and toast with hoummus are good too. I do spoon the bulk of her meals into her as the finger food is a lengthy business but I mostly mash her food.

best of luck!! hope bub enjoys it all. i ended up giving water mostly from an open cup - it has taken 2 months for him to get even vaguely good at swallowing it. Others may find it easier but just as a comparison - if you want to get more fluid into him it may take more patience than I have or a different type of vessel.
