first attempt at meal planning - what do you think?

okay, I can't be arsed to look through cookbooks for new ideas so until I get the hang of this meal planning bizzo I am going to stick with recipes I know. I am working on the basis of 2 nights of meat, 1 night of chicken, 1 of fish, 1 of egg and 2 veggie nights. Vegetables in or served with everything, obviously. Bear in mind that everything has to be suitable for 11mo dc, as buggered if I am going to cook separate things

so how's this:

Shepherd's pie
Thai beef curry & rice
apricot chicken & rice with side of green beans
Prawn pasta/ fish cakes/ oven-baked salmon (depeneds on what looks good at the supermarket - fish can be a bit dodge)
spanish omelette & salad
Vegetarian chilli
Lentil burgers or a spinach lasagne

sound okay to you?

I might be inclined to space the 2 rice dishes out so I don't have rice 2 nights in a row, but that's just me.

Oh no, that's not the order of appearance - I was just putting them in order of meat, chicken etc ... so the rice dishes would be spaced out

Sounds great. I would make double of some of things like shepherd's pie and veggie chilli, then these items can reappear on your menu next week with a few changes as well.

2 Meat
Spag bol
lamb chops, roast tats, peas etc
1 Chicken
Chicken stir-fry
1 Fish
one of the three options that I didn't do last week
1 egg
Bill Granger's egg-fried rice, Sydney-style, OMG divine
2 veg
jackets & beans & salad
butternut suqash and pea risotto
