Word of warning about washing raw meat under the tap before washing, I would never recommend it due to the risk of splashing. In other words you could end up with clean meat but a sink/worktops covered in Salmonella or Campylobacter. Cooking will destoy everything anyway so theres no need to wash it first.

Saturn74 · 09/07/2007 18:27

I think it might have been a live creature once.

jellyjelly · 09/07/2007 21:24

wOULD YOU ALL EAT IT? OR TAKE IT BACK?

OP posts:
Carmenere · 09/07/2007 21:26

We would all eat it I think Jelly, as long as it is cooked properly it is not dangerous.

Furball · 09/07/2007 21:27

pmsl at chopster ^fingering' a chicken

expatinscotland · 09/07/2007 21:28

I would eat it. I would not take it back.

I'd wipe the poo off with a wet kitchen roll that I then threw in the bin.

katylui1 · 09/07/2007 21:32

PMSL a lot!!!!! I would wash it, cook it and not get another. The point for me is, if it was a more 'earthy' chicken (i.e. bought from the organic farm where it was slaughtered 1/2 hour b4) I would expect some grime, it onlt feels wrong because everything from Tesco is meant to be plasticky and shiny. Believe me, it's not...

Hmm I had what looked like mice poo in my cereal this morning, I quickly fished it out and erased it from my memory, else I wouldnt eat cereal ever again.

Furball · 09/07/2007 21:43

Arrgh! You are not serious, a percentage of mouse poo.
Thats it, thats confirmed what I thought I saw, never will I feed my family cereal again.

Sixofone · 09/07/2007 22:27

Chopster...how does your finger 'slip' up a chicken's arse exactly!!

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2007 22:30

LOLOL at too many things to mention

hatwoman · 09/07/2007 22:49

pmsl at chopster. it's not so much the poo - it's the fact that it "still had a bottom". not something I;ve ever really thought about before...

chopster · 11/07/2007 22:05

well I wasn't expecting it to have a bum, and I was skinning it!!

jellyjelly · 12/07/2007 21:22

I kept the chicken so i could take it back but it went off before i could. Gutted i wonder what i could have got.

Jelly you should have put it in the freezer

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 12/07/2007 21:35

what was your first question? can chickens be fined for pooing???

tena lady ..relax.. the filth test measures bits of twig & insect parts (maximum allowable)mmm crunchy. but I'd be wary of mouse poo..mice have notoriously weak bladders & wee fairly constantly...apparently you can see where they've been by following the trail under UV light...enjoy your cereal

jellyjelly · 13/07/2007 18:06

yES i think all chicken should be fined for pooing, totally unacceptable to poo whilst other chickens are around.
