Firstly, sp? over nutritional!

We are all meat eaters, but ds has gone off meat. Stupid question (but not to me!),what will offer ds the same vitamins etc?

Thanks

Eggs! Mh HV said if my children eat 3 eggs a week they will get all the iron b vitamins etc that a meat eating diet would give. Cheaper too!

were veggie.we use spinach and dried apricots to replace iron.

We're not veggie but my daughter loves cubes of fried tofu. You can marinate it in a little ginger and garlic and oil to give it some taste, if you want to. Also, dried fruit is really high in iron.

some more suggestions:

lentils, eg lentil soup (quick and nutritious), lentil dal, pasta with lentil and vegetable sauce

baked beans

chick peas - nice in a curry or in soup, use canned ones if you don't have time to soak/cook the dried ones.

You could substitute soya mince or quorn for the real thing in shepherds pies, casseroles, spag bols etc.

I second baked beans.

Thanks, really appreciate it.
Going to try some of the tofu/lentils etc
