DH recommends the tins of curry available from M&S - he also uses the pouches of ready cooked biriani rice, takes a pack of nan bread and some mango chutney.

How about taking new potatoes for boiling up and copup with mayo and add acan of tuna and some french beads you cooked before you left and a small tin of balck olives?

Or subsitute the above tin of tuna with some already cooked sausages and some cherry toms?

Take with you par boiled potaotes, then slice em up, chuck em in a pan with some chopped up bacon, cherry toms, and serve with crusty bread.

Lidls do some tinned chilli which is OK for camping.

Take something frozen like a casserole or thick soup complete with veg and spuds on one. If you set off on Friday morning it will be read to heat on Friday evening, or if you're taking a cool bag, maybe even ok on Saturday especially if it's got no meat in.
Sorry, that's reading back like a Good Housekeeping tip...
