apart from peas, want something for kids and friends for quick tea (with peas as well). This is possibly the lamest food topic ever started , forgive my dead-brain. Am totally lacking in creativity today.

TomCat...what are these games you play with them to get the veggies in their tummys??

ThomCat · 03/07/2007 17:00

Games inc -

  1. Making a face with the veggies and saying 'now don't eat his nose will you' and of course she does, giggling madly. And so on 'don't eat his eye / hair / smile etc.

  2. The general - don't eat that carrot game and when she does I scream in mock horror and say noooo, no more, don't eat any more carrots, and of course she does.

  3. as above but substitute screaming 'nooo' for running round the table and tickling her every time she eats a carrot. Every time I walk back to my seat she laughs and eats more and I have to run back

  4. Pretend she is a dragon / pirate / cat / Lola etc and I am the dragon keeper / another pirate / cat's mummy / Charlie etc etc and say 'come on pirate, ohhh arrr eat this brocoli stick and we can set sail etc

my dd eats green trees (brocoli) and white trees (cauliflower) green chips (green beans) and carrots (like donkey eats)

making them fun is quite a good idea, dd is 2.8 so i think she does well although is refusing potatoe so im trying to fill her up with veg which i suppose is better for her as she eats a lot of bread/rice etc anyway

ok il stop rambling off subject now!

lol at these games!

Worth a try though, although I suspect dd is bit old to fall for them! (and to be fair she eats a reasonable amount of veg anyway - it's ds who is the problem)

Baked beans count as one of the 5 a day - thank crunchie!

Mine are amazingly good with veg. Although dragonfaerie I have to admit DD will only eat broad beans if she is hungry! But we have been having plenty of carrots too which are her all time favourite.
