chicken casserole for babies-how much chicken per portion??

have recently started adding 1-2 cubes of chicken casserole to ds's veg at lunchtime. He doesn't seem keen, but he's eaten it with a lot of singing and persuading!!! I have used the gina ford weaning book and her recipe for the casserole, but it does have a strong taste of chicken, and is basically made up of 2 chicken breasts(roughly 300g), carrot, parsnip, 2 potatoes, and 300ml stock. The book says this makes 6-8 portions. However, at a glance of the annabel karmel recipes, much less chicken is used,eg 100g/4oz chicken and this makes 12 portions!!?? This seems like a vast difference, so does anyone know roughly how much "protein" is needed once the milk feed at lunchtime is dropped?

I do not think there is a specific amount. It does not need to match the protein of the milk. I would give him as much as he wants really, whatever recipe. Once he is established on 3 meals a day (2 couses) you can start dropping milk feeds.
