"best tea bags"?

lilolilmanchester · 01/07/2007 13:52

After years of using Sainsbury's Gold tea bags, DH has now announced that he'd like some "better ones". Asked him which in particular, he doesn't know! Which would you recommend? Typhoo? PG TIps? Yorkshire Tea? Other? Will go with the one with the most votes and see if they suit his lordship.
Thanks.

I love Tetley.

Carmenere · 01/07/2007 13:55

Either Yorkshire Gold or Clipper Fairtrade or Barry's but that is not widely available here.

Tutter · 01/07/2007 13:55

tetley are marvellous

but i am decaff now and find theirs (decaff not so great). in the world of decaff i go for pg tips. unless i'm feeling good then buy clipper (naturally decaff)

Tutter · 01/07/2007 13:55

not sure why i pluralised tetley, btw

Hulababy · 01/07/2007 13:56

We have Yorkshire Tea. Have had for years. I have their decaff (I struggle with caffine) which is nice. Can't tell any difference between them two TBH.

I'm drinking Typhoo ATM as it was on offer in Morrison's but if asked to choose a favourite it would have to be Yorkshire tea

Celery · 01/07/2007 15:03

Tetley

Gingerbear · 01/07/2007 15:07

Yorkshire Tea - they do a blend especially for hardwater too.

Gingerbear · 01/07/2007 15:08

although if you are in Manchester, the water will be soft, so standard YT will suffice.

lilolilmanchester · 01/07/2007 15:11

thanks all, think we'll have to try both Yorkshire and Tetleys

Gingermonkey · 01/07/2007 18:14

I have twinings english breakfast for 'builders' type tea and drink earl grey rest of the time. I feel a bit of a flash poncey twat now

themoon66 · 01/07/2007 18:21

Co-op 99 .... THE best and most consistent tea.

chipmonkey · 01/07/2007 19:20

If you know anyone coming over here to Ireland, get them to bring back a suitcase of Barry's. It is the best!

lilolilmanchester · 02/07/2007 10:31

anyone else before I go shopping?

tea direct

ignore all other suggestions - lovely clean tea taste.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 02/07/2007 10:36

Yorkshire Tea.
(though actually I drink it mainly because I am a southerner trying to fit in.)

Mercy · 02/07/2007 10:46

Assam - no contest (Sainsbury's or Twinings)

BBBee · 02/07/2007 10:50

no mercy -assam is too tanniny.

tea direct!

Gingermonkey · 02/07/2007 10:51

lol Kathy, I'm a southerner too trying to fit in up North. You still up for the Yorkshire summer meet up? Us southern jessies need to stick together

elasticbandstand · 02/07/2007 10:52
