Dh is o/s working until Sat and 11mo dd is fast asleep - can't leave her home alone, can't wake her up (can I??) don't know anyone who lives nearby WHAT AM I GOING TO DO????!!! Just tried eating a Weetabix with raspberry jam on it and it DID NOT DO THE JOB, tasted like sawdust with jam. Don't like Weetabix at the best of time mind you. Help. any suggestions, short of eating sugar from the sugar bowl??

Go get the sugar bowl. It's ok just this once.

Walnutshell · 28/06/2007 21:01

Coffee with cream and sugar?

Toast with butter and jam?

Cornflakes with sugar and full-fat milk?

(Just listing my diet)

Tutter · 28/06/2007 21:01

nutella?

Walnutshell · 28/06/2007 21:02

Have you got ingredients to make a cake? I mean, keeping it simple - cupcakes only take 15 mins in the oven!

elastamum · 28/06/2007 21:02

Make a sugar butty. lovely!!

Whoooosh · 28/06/2007 21:03

Any local pizza delivery places?

Most do tubs of ice cream and things like choc mud cake.....if you are really desperate.

PrincessButtercup · 28/06/2007 21:04

If it helps, I was feeling very similar about 15 mins ago. Scoured house and found large bag of dolly mixture hidden away for various potty training/bribery purposes. Scoffed the lot in seconds. Feel very, very sick. Sweet stuff = overrated. Bleeuurghgh.

Stargazing · 28/06/2007 21:11

no bread in the house or else would have had loads of toast and honey by now .... what's all this about cake then. how do you make one that doesn't take long, not sure I have the ingredients, but worth an ask!!!

mawbroon · 28/06/2007 21:38

SR flour (or plain flour and baking powder), butter, sugar and eggs. Do you have those?

Ulysees · 28/06/2007 21:42

You can make microwave cake,I made one with peanut butter and jam. Turned out more like a biscuit but very tasty

Stargazing · 28/06/2007 21:43

negative on the eggs. As Jack Bauer would say - DAMMIT!!! I am really beside myself. When will I learn to buy supplies for these situations?

OP posts:
elasticbandstand · 28/06/2007 21:44

toast and jam?

Stargazing · 28/06/2007 21:44

and there's a bloody 'skinny cow' ad on telly with that woman eating ice cream, damn her.

OP posts:
elasticbandstand · 28/06/2007 21:44

why no supplies,... cos you'd eat them

sarahhal · 28/06/2007 21:47

Can sympathise! Am not pregnant but had planned slobby nibbly night with wine as Dh out - he's only driven off with the supermarket bag with the goodies in Just keep thinking of my lovely crips sitting in a carpark in Pontefract......

cece · 28/06/2007 21:47

Mix butter with sugar. Spread onto bread and then taost under the grill. Toast first side before adding butter/sugar mix though. A student staple from the old days.

What Cece says, but with cinnamon mixed in - then it becomes cinnamon toast, which is proper food, not some studenty thing

MarshaBrady · 28/06/2007 21:54
