Haven't popped corn since I was a kid. Decided to do some today, but didn't know what you're supposed to put in the pan with the corn. Used pure (dairy free marg) and a bit of brown sugar, in the hope that I'd end up with a bit of a toffee-ish coating. Popped and was ok, but wasn't toffee-ish at all, and ended up needing (some might say wanting ) to sprinkle sugar over it.

So my question is, how do I get it like butterkist style popcorn?
How do I get it like the sweet stuff you get in the cinema?
How do I get it like the salt stuff you get in the cinema?
What else tastes good on it?

I thank you .

rubbish. that was meant to read [foiled emoticon] but with double brackets it became a link. weird.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/06/2007 21:44

lol, so your foiled again emoticon was foiled again! You'd have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky brackets!

You've got to bid for it! I love mine and so do the kids too! Feel like a proper mum creating Activities when we Make Popcorn.

Does anyone know where to buy the corn to pop though ? I can't find it in Tesco's or Morrisons !

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 16:52

I bought a big bag of it recently, I think from Waitrose, but I bet places like Holland & Barrett will sell it too.

LucyLamb · 29/06/2007 17:30

ChippyMinton · 29/06/2007 17:35

In our Tesco it's in the proper indian foods section (along with 10kg bags of rice and 5l drums of cooking oil and all the yummy sweetmeat bits & pieces)

LucyLamb · 29/06/2007 19:23

Oh we don't have much Indian stuff - it's very down market round there - loads of aisles of Pot Noodles and that kind of thing - not much interesting stuff !
