What size loaf tin? I use half in a 2lb tin. It takes longer than a shallow tin. Maybe 45 mins?

I'm taking this from Green and Blacks LDC but has chocolate chunks in it. The recipe is for a cake in a 7x5inch (12x19cms) loaf tin (lined with greaseproof paper). 4 1/2 oz unsalted butter and caster sugar, 2 lg eggs, 5oz s.r flour, 1tsp baking powder, grated rind 1 large lemon, 1tblsp milk. (+3oz dark chopped chocolate if you're using their recipe). 2oz golden granulated sugar and juice 1 lemon for icing

Mix all together. Bake for 40minutes (180C/350F/gas4). Mix sugar into lemon juice and pour over hot cake in its tin.
Hope all that helps!

Can someone describe the texture for me please, I think I have gone a bit wrong. It's very crumbly.

Thanks

Drizzle cake virgin here but I am planning to make one soon. Just had to rofl at the thought of an official MN Drizzle Cake Advisory Panel.

Perhaps Gordon should appoint a minister for drizzle cake?

Actually, once it had cooled properly it was vair nice. Kept my bobcat man and his mate happy all arvo. Wonder if it will work on the grano man next week?

I make my drizzle cake in a loaf tin and use: 6 oz SR flour/ 4oz butter or margarine/ 4 oz caster sugar/ grated rind of lemon/ two eggs (largish)/ i tsp baking powder.
Icing is as much lemon juice/icing sugar as you think it justifies.
