Right ladies, new thread, let's get the rules set down so we can get baking

I love mumsnet - fish tank advice on a cupcake thread ROFL & hope fish are okay this morning.

So now i'm confused - is the theme "In an English Country Garden"?

If so yes, yes yes (and good wishes for peachy and her peachlet)

OP posts:
MrsFish · 21/06/2007 08:07

The theme is 'summer' and songs'

Slubberdegullion · 21/06/2007 16:30

Could I recommend that points are awarded for any clever roundabouty ways that our cakes are related to the theme.

Cryptic Clues Cupcake Commendation.

MrsFish · 21/06/2007 16:38

Don't you have any songs that encompass your theme?

Mine will be very obvious

tigi · 21/06/2007 17:06

Afternoon ladies and cupcakes. Just back from work.
Fish spent a pleasant night in my garden pot. Look a bit unhealthy though, water gone funny.
dad coming round later to try the silicone. If not I'll be up Pet city tomorrow. I found out why the tank leaked - I trod on the lost bit of glass while doing kids sarnies!! Ouch! Still think there is a bit in there. Got to bed after midnight - not pleased! Thanks for your help though!

tigi · 21/06/2007 17:08

Should we just not have one theme, else very hard to judge - thinking of myself here, don't want extra problems.. Who is my fellow judge - noone has stepped forward to announce themselves yet...

Like the rosette LL. Very professional. It will of course clash with my VSC red winners rosette. I will need to display them in different rooms.

Mrs Fish, if you can come up with a song that involves koala bears, or eye balls, then I would be very grateful.

ChippyMinton · 21/06/2007 18:20

here's the picturetrail again

Seriously pink LL

MrsFish · 21/06/2007 18:51

Cuddly Koala

Tune: Frere Jaques

Cuddly koala,
Cuddly koala,
Possums too,
Possums too,
Wallabies and wombats,
Wallabies and wombats,
Kangaroos, Kangaroos

Found on a search

Slubberdegullion · 21/06/2007 19:11

Doh, I know that one too, sing it with my Rainbows. It has actions.

Thank you also LL.

I may now reconsider my entries.

PMD, can you not enter a cupcake in an unusual position....points awarded for setting/presentation don't forget.

...I've got a luverlee bunch of coconuts springs instantly to mind. I have no idea if you do though, so may not be suitable for a photo.

UCM · 21/06/2007 20:03

Tomorrow morning you should have a surprise girls. Posted today.

UCM · 21/06/2007 20:04

Fuck me, that is brilliant LL. Most impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slubberdegullion · 21/06/2007 20:09

ooh ooh ooh

I am so excited. All DC's pictures are being removed from the cork board. It will be just my rosette in all it's glory.

tigi · 21/06/2007 20:47

Am I being a bit dim here, I can't follow this conversation?
And can I say in a slipping-it-in-to-conversation-sort-of-way 'If the Judge wore a rosette it would stop them getting lost in the judging marquee' (You do remember the trouble we had last time attracting the judge with our lacy hankies)

Slubberdegullion · 21/06/2007 20:49

tigi, haven't you been watching the great British Village show programme on sunday nights?

The cake judges have a bottle green pinny, an official badge, a neat bun(hair), and a moderately large bottom.

No rosette.

tigi · 21/06/2007 20:53

ohhh but I want one. You are alright, you got one (tears glint in eye emoticon)

tigi · 21/06/2007 20:55

And anyway, I haven't got a green pinny - got one with cats on. I hope my bottom isn't too moderatly big, and there is fat chance of my hair in a neat bun, it's curly and would hang out! I have to be different you see, so I NEED a rosette to be seen as an important person. Any colour, I'm not fussy...

Slubberdegullion · 21/06/2007 20:58

make yerself a big badge with

I'M A MN CAKE JUDGE on.

Then we'll know who you are.

UCM · 21/06/2007 21:07

You will love your rosette as well as the little prize. It's from Super Cook, so you should be ok

purplemonkeydishwasher · 21/06/2007 21:32

i'll have to have a think slub. maybe i'll dream a good idea!
