A warning tale about food colouring - My mum made a brilliant thomas cake with plenty of blue and black icing. The next day the DC's poos were blue too

I ended up having to paint it on straight from the bottle in the end as I couldn't get enough black ready to roll icing

It was great watching people eat it, as they all had black teeth and lips

Good luck all, I'm on hols from tomorrow so can't assist with the eating, I mean, judging, but hope it's a great competition.

ooh can i enter i usually lurk but this looks like fun, plus its a friends bday so i can give the cakes to her for a bday cake as well or am i too late to register? or is it regulars only?

pants - kitchen still out of use! i am not supposed to be using the floor! - so levitation is in order! any cupcakes i make will have to be very light & airy - floaty light!
d'yer think cod will have anything to say about my kitchen if i post pics now - clue, dd keeps running around shouting 'it's very dusty'

on a tangent - dd loves nemo. i'm thinking of doing a standard shape cake, witha pic of nemo on - is painting it on the easiest/best way? i'm not v good at painting soa little worried.
