Just realized the beef joint I bought for today is best before 15th june(fri). Would you still cook it? Smells ok Looks slightly brownish but doesnt look off IYKWIM?

Thanks, Im never sure with beef but as I said it looks ok. Wont tell dh, he worries lots about that sort of thing. . Will make sure it is well though.

as long as it smells ok it should be fine.

Meat smells pretty rank as soon as it starts to go off.

I think it smelt ok. Raw meat never smells nice does it. I would know if it was past it wouldnt I? Oh well, nothing else to cook for lunch so will just have to risk it and hope I dont poison everyone!

I agree that raw meat can smell awful anyway, but off stuff there is no doubt.
