what are you supposed to do with it? I've got to age 35 without trying the stuff and now I've bought a jar - well two weeks ago actually - I think it goes on bread(toast) are there any other inspiring things to do with it - I looked for a serving suggestion on the jar, but it was sadly lacking. Help please.

eat with spoon with a dab of butter (just in case it's not fatty enough on its own). get through 80 per cent of the jar before dds have had any and before dh has even realised it's in the house. panic at someone discovering The Truth. Finish jar. dispose and buy new one. pronto.

franca - we discovered it on holiday in Italy in about 1978. my mum scoured the streets of Sheffield to find it and eventually found a small Italian coffee shop that sold the individual portions.

1978, a bumper crop for Nutella...
although I think Ferrero has now been sold to some german multinational ... not sure though...

I use it as speedy cake icing

Make a sponge cake and then use the nutella as icing.

Ah, I didn't read all the way to the top

I make a dessert with it. Spread Nutella (or other choc spread - I like the Milky Way one) on one side of a digestive biscuit and place on a plate. Spoon on some chopped raspberries or strawberries to cover the biscuit, then top with another digestive which has the spread on both sides, then spoon on some more chopped berries and a sprig of mint. Serve with vanilla ice cream. It's delicious, easy and looks impressive.
