Bought baby food - is it embarrassing?

I've noticed when I take my 9m baby out to the shops that some mothers give me funny looks when I get out the Cow & Gate jar.
Is it the brand that's a bit embarrassing (perhaps it should be Plum Baby or something organic?) or should I be making the foodmyself? Do other mums think bought baby food is a sign of horrible laziness - and if so, which brand is the least shaming?

don't you worry about what other mums do or think. Honestly, there is so much snobbiness about these things.

Personally, I do make my own baby food, and I have tried Plum Baby when we were travelling (verdict - way too runny and not substantial enough for my guzzle-guts dd) but it's a totally personal thing, just as 'real' versus disposable nappies are. I use cloth, but would never turn my nose up and a woman putting her dc in a Pampers in a communal change room.

Just do whatever works and is convenient for you!

Oh for goodness sake, nothing wrong with bought babyfood as a standby! If they're giving you funny looks then they have a problem with snobbery. Use whatever you and he like.
