Lentil and bacon soup - recipe?

Has anyone got good recipe for bacon (lardons) and lentil soup?

Want to make one but need to see how others do it.

Have red lentils and also a packet of posh ones somewhere - can I use either? Both?

Please.

Fry 6oz each of finely diced onion, carrot, celery and lardons (and some garlic, if you want) in olive oil. Add two tins of chopped tomatoes and simmer for twenty minutes. Add 12oz of lentils (dh likes red but you can use Puy), season well, stir and add a pint of vegetable stock. Simmer for about an hour. When ready to serve, stir in some grated parmesan. Serves 4.

And this French recipe looks nice - haven't made it myself but it looks good.
