DS1 has to make some sweets for a cub challenge. Is appalled by the thought of peppermint creams and apart from melting choc down and putting it into moulds, I can't think of anything different. Don't want to risk toffee. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

florentines - var var easy and look stunning.

Melt a bowl of plain choc and a bowl of white choc.
Chop some nuts (pistachio add green), cherries, sultanas, etc.
Drop spoonfuls of melted choc onto greaseproof paper then srpinkle fruit and nuts on top. Leave to set.

Or truffles. Melted choc, bit butter, bit icing sugar, bicuit crumbs. Roll balls in sprinkles or cocomut of whatever.

When I was little I used to enjoy making marzipan fruits - you can shape the marzipan into little apples, banana shapes etc and then paint with food colouring with a small paint brush. Then place in a petit four case.

Have to be careful about nut allergies I guess
