In my freezer, i have a bag of tesco frozen chicken breasts.

on the back of them it says to defrost for 8-12 hours.

Can i defrost them in the microwave?? on my defrost prog obviously.

I forgot to take them out this morning

If you're going to cut them up, what I would do (and DO do, and haven't poisoned anyone yet) is either microwave them for a couple of minutes on a low setting, or put them in a sealed plastic bag in a tub of hot water. Just enough to be able to get a sharp knife through them, then cut up and cook from frozen. Best if you're using a method where you're going to cook them through while supervising them, like a stirfry, rather than leaving them to cook by themselves like a casserole.

Disclaimer: you're really not supposed to do this, but I do it all the time (very disorganised, NEVER remember to defrost stuff). Just don't leave the chicken sitting around semi-defrosted (or in the hot water!) for hours on end.
