What did you crave during pregnancy???

With ds1 I wanted turkey and maramlade sandwiches. With ds2 I wanted apple juice and snack sized mars bars. Went off all junk food and carved roast potatoes and gravy.

Anyone else?

DS1 was mars bar ice creams. I'd eat a box of 6 then go to the co-op and get more so DH didn't know.

DS2 - crushed garlic. Loved the smell and the taste - and it kept DH away at night which was an added bonus!!

I'm another ice craver. The craving seemed to get stronger the further through the pregnancy I went. And it didnt end with ds's birth either. Dh had to keep bringing me thermos flasks full of ice cubes to the hospital!

This is probably an old wives tale but someone told me an ice craving during pregnancy can be due to low iron levels. I didnt think anything of it until I found out(after the birth) that I had quite low levels during my pregnancy, and then VERY low levels after my caesarian and subsequent blood loss.

With DD it was Tesco Bombay Potatoes (chilled, ready meal type ones)

With DS it was anything and everything ie. FOOD!

Vinegar crisps and pickled onions or anything bitter.

Sometimes it was greggs' donuts.
Although I think that wasn't so much a craving as, well I can eat it, so I'm going too kinda thing.

All food !!!!! but loved Pomme Bear crisps and bowls of rice crispies the best. Also loved crunching ice cubes

ds1 was full fat milk. I used to chase the milkman down the road in my dressing gown.

ds2 was Naval Oranges. About 4 a day.

dd was cake. Any cakes but preferable fresh cream horns. I would buy two in Sainsburys and eat them in the car before I'd left the car park.

Oh and in latter stages I loved sniffing fire lighters and shoe polish. Whats that all about?

Marmite toast, cheese on its own & shed-loads of fresh mango at the beginning.

Nothing much in the middle, except a little bit of a sweet tooth, which is unusual for me. Sour sweets & sherbert.

Now 40+2, getting through about 4 trays of ice a day and loving anything snortish (wasabi/horseradish/english mustard). Yum.

DP reckons he's got cravings too, as he's been chowing his way through loads of chocolate cakes & fizzy pop; I'm sceptical.

with d-monster munch pickled onion crisps-i stunk!dh brought me box for xmas and it was the best present ever-lasted about 2 days!
ds1-nothing really-ds2-cola!which i never really drink.it wasnt that bad a craving though.not like the monster munch-i would have killed for some!

.....One night on a trip to Brussels with Dp, we stopped at a lovely little bar to get out of the rain. I ordered a hot chocolate and Dp ordered a beer, drinks arrived while he was in the loo. 'Oooh', i thought, 'i never noticed before just how bleeding gorgeous beer smells'...So i sat there for about a minute with my nostrils hovering half an inch from the froth - bad idea......
Dp arrived back to an empty beer glass and a very shame-faced JV!!

At the moment I craving sleep, peace and quiet! No food cravings though.

Instant decaf coffee made with lots of milk. Very embarrassing for a coffee snob (normally only strong black freshly roasted Java will do)

giving birth

Well, cheddar cheese and white bread makes me drool. I eat less pickled onions than before I was pregnant but still love them. Soup has been a life saver in the evenings when I can't face a big meal. Salt and vinegar crisps and rice cakes at the start but I think I over-dosed. Went off salad but now it is coming back with lashings of lemon please !!!!! Fresh pineapple - oh yes !!!

Even the thought of all of these things sends me into saliva over production - hope I don't drown !!!

i ate cheese and tomatoes (hate both of them when not pg) and drank vinegar and hot water.

Hamburger rolls with ham and mayo.

With dd I craved anything to do with Apples.
Apples, apple juice, appletiser, apple laces lol.

Ds, I dont really think I craved anything apart from Pate towards the end.

This pregnancy all I have wanted is fatty salty foods but that seems to have passed now and I'm eating loads of fruit and crunchy veg.

But with all, I have this weird craving of sniffing brand new sponges lol.

DD1 - pink grapefruit - to the point of buying pink grapefruit smelling washing up liquid and just sniffing it!!

DD2 - fish but it had to be cooked in batter and then I would unwrap it from the batter and eat it in a nano second

I went off chocolate, milk, coffee.

Nectarines (bought out the white flesh ones from M&S) and lemons - used to drink freshly squeezed lemon juice with no sugar or anything.
