He is really into cooking atm
Needs stuff that is not too complicated - I got him the F word one which is great but if anything a little too simple.

Any suggestions?

The early Jamie Oliver books (Naked Chef; return of Naked Chef; Happy days with NC)Find I make more from these than the later books.

Nigel Slater a hit with my DH.

PetronellaPinkPants · 22/05/2007 16:45

ooh yes
Nigel
good idea

F word one is Gordon R
We have the Ainsley harriot one but I hate his grinning mug so much I have relegated it to back of bookcase

Yes, Nigel Slater would be good - a cook rather than a chef, lots of easy, tasty things. Kitchen Diaries is very good.

DrDaddy · 22/05/2007 16:49

DW bought me Gordon Ramsay "Makes It Easy" and Gordon "Ramsay Sunday Lunch" which are both excellent. The recipes are easy to follow, but quite sophisticated.
I've got Jamie Oliver's 2 original Naked Chef books, but hardly look at them now.

Nigel Slater, liked by all men I know. I like the Kitchen Diaries esp, but all his are great with good photos and good, hearty recipes.

Ina Garten All her books are amazing. Quick easy and fantastic end results. Highly recommend them - if you love puddings you'll love the Frozen Key Lime Pie

Nigel Slater is a good food journo...not a great chef IMO. Sorry to disagree with you, but he's not equally liked by all men.

Pannacotta · 22/05/2007 17:03

Not sure anyone said ALL men like NS, all the men I know like him, but I don't know all men!!

PetronellaPinkPants · 22/05/2007 17:04

he does like his stuff in the Grauniad

Nigel's Fast Food book is fab - my DH loves all his books though , but he also has Jamie Oliver, Delia Smith's complete collection, Rose Elliot, River Cafe.....etc etc...you get the picture...

Brit Spice by Manju Malhi is a good book if you like that kind of food
