Spelt Flour Bread - can you make it in a machine?

I'm thinking of getting a breadmaking machine. A fantastic miller near my Mum produces spelt flour which he says has 17 times mor minerals and vitamins than ordinary flour - but he says you can't use spelt flour in a machine because it needs a longer or shorter rising time or something.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I've got a packet of spelt flour (Marriage's?) and it says you should only use a small proportion of spelt flour in the mix - about 1/3rd to 2/3rds wholemeal or white.

Yes. You can.
I think my breadmachine (Panasonic which lots of MNers recommend and I agree - it's fab) has a recipe, or I may have just used one from another book, but it came out fine. It wasn't 100% spelt flour but you can mix with other flours to get different effects - I love it with wholemeal, nice & crumbly.

However I am also currently experimenting with only using part of the cycle - eg just doing the dough in the machine and baking in the oven.

Also, if your machine has a good range of long and short settings you will likely find one which works.

You may need to be prepared to experiment a bit with altering levels of salt, sugar, yeast, liquid etc. to get the result you want, but it's not rocket science and if you start with a recipe close to an official machine one and just make small changes you shouldn't end up with any bread you can't eat.

Thank you!
A Panasonic and partial mix sounds the way to go.
