Lumpy problem!

ds is now 9 months old. He has had severe reflux since birth (shame it took them 5 months and 4 hospital admissions to diagnose it). He is not a good eater and still only weighs just under 15lbs. In general he will eat anything that is purred (?sp)to death. The smallest hint of a lump and he will projectile vomit his entire meal. The dietician has said to stick to puree but thicken it so he has to chew and try melt in the mouth foods such as quavers. Has anyone else had this problem? I really can't see a light at the end of this particular tunnel - sorry rather negative at the moment as just tried him on a tiny bit of so called melt in the mouth sponge finger and yes you guessed it - vomit everywhere.

Poor poor you, how i sympathise, yes we had exactly the same problem with our ds now 4, looking back now and i cant say that he has progressed all that much his real problem seemed to be with Lumpy but in sauce ie inconsistent texture foods. He was and is fine with dry lumpy stuff but put lump in a sauce and he will still reject it immediately. Not that i am saying this is the same for you but at 1 year when we changed our ds to cows milk the reflux got even worse so i switched him to soya, the reflux improved although we did eventually switch to rice milk as he seemed to develop eczema.

There are all sorts of different views on soya milk and rice milk so you should research and discuss before you do anything but it is worth talking to your health visitor about if you havent already.

Have to say that i think my son will always now have what i call a RAPID REFLUX REFLEX but it really really really does get better.

Im due to have my second babe any day now and having just washed all the old vest and baby grows i remember it all so well, mine used to be sick approx 6-10 times a day i never went out without at least two changes of clothes and at times it really really got me down but i promise it did get better feel free to moan at someone who understands anytime
