It was a pretty big problem in the 80s when there was a lot of salmonella in eggs (allegedly) but apparently now it is only a very small risk - risk is smaller if you do not let eggshell get mixed up with the egg when mixing it in (for the 4 year old audience in my house!) - apparently it is pretty unlikely that you will get sick from it these days.
