What do you take on a picnic??

It both ds's birthdays next week, ds2 will be 3 and ds1 will be 8. ds1 would love to go on a picnic ds2 isnt really bothered he just wants presents . Was aiming to go next sunday (27th) which is ds1 birthday.

Other then sandwiches I dont really know what to take.

Ideas please??

ooh I have lots of chicken legs in the freezer could cook some of them save buying drumsticks.

Houmous, carrot sticks, bread sticks, french bread, strawberries, grapes, pancake or tortilla wraps, cold omelette/frittata (or quiche), cucumber slices, cheese cubes, radishes, bottles of water and lashings of ginger beer .
