anyone got a tasty recipe havent made it before but fancy making something different thanks

cook your mushrooms and some chopped onions in a pan, add a teaspoonful of dijon mustard, then top up with double cream. Simmer for twenty minutes and serve.

Delicious and simple, but not so good if you're watching your weight.

Fry up chopped mushrooms and very finely chopped onion in a litle olive oil
Add a splash of white wine
Add a tub of Creme Fraiche and a good dollop of Boursin (the one with garlic and herbs).

works with red wine too.. I don't drink but I do cook... oh and a bit of Parmesan cheese for depth of flavor, but chedder will do!

I use dry sherry instead of wine or brandy.
I add the mushrooms after the onions/garlic has softened. I like to use lots of different types of mushrooms to get lots of flavour. Dried wild mushrooms work well too.
And a touch of paprika in there at the end.

most recipes do call for paprika at the end, but I don't always put it in as I don't always have it in stock. just tend to make do and add lots of black pepper instead.

Fry 2 chopped onions and five sticks of diced celery in 2 oz butter. Add 1 lb button mushrooms and cook for 2-3 mins. Add mixed herbs. Stir in 1 tbsp plain flour and cook for 1 min. Add 1/2 pint veg stock and cook for 8-10 mins. Stir in 21/2 floz sour cream and heat to serving temperature.

Not so fattening but still delicious - the celery gives it a real flavour.

chestnut mushrooms, red onion, paprika, tom puree, chicken stock, madeira or sherry, half fat creme fraiche. parsley , served with tagliatelle.
also good with strips of pork.
fry onions and mushrooms until soft
add 2tbsp paprika and 1.5 tbsp of puree stir
add 250ml stock, 100ml madeira/sherry. boil,simmer 1 min
stir in creme fraiche, bunch of parsley chopped, seaso, boil, serve garnished with parlsey.

Mushroom Stroganoff

Ingredients
knob of butter
1 tbsp olive oil
onion
mushrooms, sliced
1 garlic clove, peeled and crushed
double cream/creme fraiche or sour cream
splash of red wine to taste
salt and freshly ground black pepper
handful of fresh herbs
parmesan cheese (optional)
Paprika

Method

  1. Heat the butter and oil in a pan and sauté the onion, mushrooms and garlic for a few minutes, to soften and brown.
  2. Stir in the cream(creme fraiche or soured cream), red wine and seasoning and reduce down for 8-10 minutes.
  3. Stir in the fresh herbs and paprika( parmesan if you wish)and heat for a further few minutes.
  4. enjoy
