Pataks curry paste jar - why does it keep leaking all over my shelf?

This is most puzzling. The jar is not broken or cracked, and yet I keep finding curry stains underneath the jar on my shelf. Anyone else suffered this and know what the problem is?

Put it in a bowl in the fridge.
I speak from experience

I don't know but I have the same problem! I think it is the oil trapped in the lid working its way out, and the fact that it is so brightly coloured makes a little go an extremely long way.

As moondog says, put something underneath it. Also I found it was worse when I kept the jar in the door of the fridge, I think it was because the oil slopped up against the lid when I slammed the door.

It's totally spooky isn't it? First time, I thought I'd spilled something, so gave jar and shelf a good wipe. Now, four days later, the leak is back!!!
