Help me decide what to cook for a dinner party - PLEASE!!!

We are having friends over for dinner at the weekend and I can't decide which of the things below to cook. We are having a selection of canapes for starter and they are bringing pudding.

I am stuck between:-

seasoned steak in a red wine sauce served with either noodles or chips and garlic bread

or

sausages served with cheese & spring onion mash potato and home made onion gravy.

I was going to try and be healthy but then I thought sod it!

SH I love steak with mash (all the lovely meat juices flavour the mash and you can put horseradish in it).

Going with the meat and two veg theme, you should serve s+m as the sausages are suitably phallic.....
