OK, this is really pathetic, but how do you stew apples and pears? What's the proportion of fruit to water? I don't want a puree, but a nice mush with some chunks. I won't need to add sugar as the pears and apples are sweet varieties.

Tell me what to do from the beginning cos I'm rubbish (if only I had a photo of my rhubarb crumble to show you ).

Hi twogorgeousboys, would follow what Yorkiegirl suggests, however I would definetely add a little sugar because sweet as they may be, it tastes just that little bit more yummy and we're only talking a teaspoon full of sugar...and I would say if there are 4 of you do Yorkiegirls proportions but if just for 2 children, then 2 apples would suffice....delicious served with Birds Eye custard, icecream or just as it is
