I'm turning lazy with my cooking.....................

and I don't give a sh*t. Went to Morrisons today and bought lots of 'basic' salad stuff (cherry tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce etc) and a selection of 'easy' to cook meats (mainly from the BBQ meat section as then I don't have to worry about fancy sauces/marinades) and some really easy bung in the oven stuff (breaded fish, chicken lattices etc etc) and it's flipping marvelous.

I've finally woken up and realised it won't actually hurt my children and DH to eat 'plain and simple' meals until after DC3 arrives - got so hung up on it during pg's with DS1 and DS2 - and this pg so far - but now I've realised it's much nicer to be in a semi-sociable mood when DH gets in from work and for him to have something on the table than for me to have a lovely fancy meal and me to be zonked out..

I just figured that there's no point in knackering myself even more when I'm 35 weeks pg and have 2 DS's to look after - and I do the entire afterschool/evening/bedtime routine every weeknight because of DH's work hours - so really needed to just relax a bit LOL (shame it's taken me nearly 3 pgs to figure it out )

LOL at repeated use of the word "fancy" in this context

No offence meant FA, it's just tickled me

You are heavily pregnant with 2 little ones to boot. Easy meals are your right. Heck, why not try Takeaway as well!

  • must be the pg hormones again - I don't get the "fancy" thing.........

Perhaps you should have said poncey (sp?) which is a very popular word on mumsnet!

I know what you mean. Fancy food is for special occasions in this house because I can't prepare it and look after the kids at the same time. Too many interruptions! And I haven't even got a bump to slow me down.
