What happened to Roo Juice?

My local tescos has stopped selling Roo Juice and its not on their online store either. And Somerfields don't do it and neither do Sainsburys. Or the local Boots (but I don't think they ever did). Aren't they making it any more? It was great for days out - dd thinks a carton drink with straw is a huge treat and Roo juice is just diluted fruit juice - which is what she gets in her beaker at home. But I can't find it! Help!

I'm sure I bought some a couple of months ago from Boots (I needed to boost my spend by about 50p to gain extra points!!). When I next go in I'll look. If you request it at Tescos their policy is to restock it so go to customer services and ask.

My local Boots is really tiny so probably won't have it anyway. DH works near a big Boots so may tell him to leave his laptop at home and fill his briefcase up with cartons one day .

I emailed Tesco online, no reply yet. Will try going and asking instore.

Same problem here - I can no longer get it anywhere. I am in central london and have tried lots of supermarkets both online and real ones. If anyone finds out what is happenning with it, I want to know too!

Piffleoffagus · 01/08/2004 16:33

the nct got lots of free roo juice as part of a sponsership deal, worth asking your local branch if they have any left!! while waiting for any more to come out?

nutcracker · 01/08/2004 16:43

They used to have it at Asda.

I'll go look online.

nutcracker · 01/08/2004 16:47

No they don't have it either. Weird. I've definatly brought it from there before.

Hulababy · 01/08/2004 18:29

Oh no. We used to get this to - fom Boots, Asa, Sainsburys. Is it not for sale anymore then?

coppertop · 01/08/2004 18:37

We've got a couple of cartons in our fridge. We got them from Tesco's a couple of weeks ago. We also bought one in a cafe last week so they're still around somewhere.

jampot · 01/08/2004 19:34

It would appear that Roo Juice is made by Coco-Cola and this is their consumer helpline no. 0800 227711

It might be worth calling and at least you'll probably get a few cartons for free!!! I'll call too and pass them on to anyone if I get them!!!

Saw some in Woolworths today - had never heard of it but thought the cartons looked v. cute - ds informed it was "gruesome" though (this is the combat wearing Busted fan - mmmmmm so I didn't get to buy it - worth checking out for little ones with more taste though!

jampot · 01/08/2004 23:08

I have tried it and it really is gruesome !

fruitful · 02/08/2004 10:00

Fruit juice diluted with 50% water is pretty gruesome anyway...

I called the Cococola helpline and they said only Boots and Woolworths stock it now (and not my local ones). So if you can still get it in your local Tescos they're just using up their stocks.

Rats! Guess she'll just have to have pure apple juice when we're out and about then. We use them when we want to have a drink at a cafe or lunch out - a drink in a carton keeps her happy and occupied for way longer than a drink in a beaker!

Have you tried monkey juice or parrot juice Tesco have them in organic section (have pictures on the carton not sure of their real name)

fruitful · 10/08/2004 19:29

I found them, they're called Calypso drinks. Still only 10% juice and the rest is water, sugar, flavouring. I want kids drinks in cartons that are 50% juice! Aaggghhh. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Ooh, and I like Tesco's revamped website. Piccies by the food list, hooray, at last.
