DH and I are going to stay in an eco-log-cabin-thingy Sat-Mon this weekend [excited] and we will literally only have a big BBQ to cook on.

I need ideas.

I don't eat meat, DH does, we both love fish.

I can't bear fish bones, so sardines, delicious though they are, are OUT.

Please give me some inspiration so we don't end up with burgers/veggie burgers!

oh squid and cherry tom kebabs sound delish

Im not a huge marinader, usually forget, but I think squid tastes so good on its own it won't matter.

We're back and we had a great time

The log cabin was stunning, pure Hansel and Gretel, nothing inside but a table, a woodburner a sofa and a bed - bliss! Only slight downside was teh fact that right out side this cabin, whcih was slap bang in the middle of ancient, glorious woodland and a lovely wide river, was a ramblers trail...kept saying hello to hordes of people in sensible boots, whilst trying to chill out on the verandah with DH and a bottle of wine!

Food was smashing - corn on the cob, garlic bread, squid & cherry tom kebabs, mussels (the BEST thing, thanks forever to moondog!) little potatoes cooked with rosemary and olive oil, peppers, mushrooms, onions and bagels smothered in philly for brekkie Yummo. We went crazy and had real butter too for a treat hehehe

I'm now anxiously awaiting the return of the kids and the dog, due back any time, last saw them at 9.30am on Saturday and I have tosay, I've REALLY missed them.

MamaG · 08/05/2007 13:21

(its not really us

DH went fishing - i didn't! We went on long walks through the woods, absolutely glorious, really, all the bluebells were out it was truly beautiful. We had a fumble in the woods too

We ate good food, drank a lot and (gasp) talked too!

Yeah think my DP would be put off by all the fishing talk on the website.
Looks lovely though.
And so you shouod have had a fumble in the woods, would have been a waste if you hadn't!

MamaG · 08/05/2007 13:24

I don't really know why there was so much fishing talk on teh site, as there weren't actually ANY fish in the river, according to DH

It was lovely to chill out on the verandah and read
