Dried apples

Does anyone know how you make your own dried apples? We always have loads of apples, and I spend a fortune on dried fruit. Thought I would have a go at doing my own, but haven't a clue how to. Anyone know? (we have an AGA plus a conventional oven)
Thanks, Bee

I found this on a children's craft page. Looks fairly straightforward!

Also "Peel and core the apples. Slice into rings approx 1/4 inch thick. String on a string in a warm place (will take approx one week) or lay in racks in the sum. Apples should not be touching one another. May also be dried on racks in a 150 degree oven for 5 - 6 hours. Store in a glass jar or paper bag."

I also found www.bahnhof.se/~chimbis/tocb/recipes/various/var9.html but multiple links don't work
