I need some inspiration on what to take with us, something quick & easy to make would be good 8 adults & 6 kids so maybe even 2 puds?

fruit salad - easy and light on the stomach when you've overdone it on the barbeque food

Thanks everyone, I'm off to the shop to get my ingredients. I'm still undecied though, think I'm going to try cod's choc mousse & probably a fresh fruit salad for us fatties

I know one gingerbiscuit pudding recipe. You us a whole packet of them and dip them in sherry (sweet sherry) and then stick them together in a log shape with whipped cream and then spread whipped cream ontop as well. It looks like a white log, v easy and v nice

Here in Oz BBQ puddings are often a pavlova, with whipped cream and strawberries, or a chocolate fondue with fruit to dip. Yum.

Choc brownies or a big pile of meringues and fresh strawberries.

We do two desserts that you cook on the BBQ.

1-Bananas and choco drops, peal bananas and wrap in foil, drop in a handful of choco drops. Put onto a warm-ish grill until the choco has melted.

2-Peaches in Brandy, half peaches and remove stone, fill hole with brown sugar and wrap in foil, poor about tbsp of brandy over the brown sugar. Again pop onto warm grill until sugar disolves.

The bananas detailed below but with a drop of rum or tia maria in for the grown ups! Serve with cream. mmmmmm

Or a bag or marshmallows and some sticks. use 2 hobnobs to remove sticky marshmallow from stick & hey presto, a gooey, sweet sticky mess that tastes fab. Don't shake the stick to put out the fire though, as the flaming marshmallow may fly off!

Ohh nice idea Rachmumoftwo.

You could add a bit of chocolate to your marshmallow creations and they'd be smores, one of America's better inventions IMO
