Best starter - recipe ideas please?

Anybody got any quick & tasty starter ideas?

field mushrooms stuffed with breadcrumbs, bacon and stilton is always a fave here.

What are you serving as mains? Any likes/dislikes?

wrap asparagus spears in serrano/parma ham. pour over melted butter and cook in oven. I add syrup to the butter too.
