Just started making my 8 month old some meals to freeze and am defrosting chicken in the microwave, but I have just realised, cannot i not refreeze this once it is added to the meals??

If not, how long would you keep made up meals in the fridge for?? Got food already for today, and really don't want to have to bin it..... Der..... ...

If you cook it, you can re-freeze it, because it has changed.

If you do not cook it, just defrost it, you can definitely NOT refreeze it.

also, you can't defrost, cook, freeze, make it into something else again and refreeze again! That sounds complicated but I often freeze a chicken breast, then defrost it and mince it for a pie. You can't then freeze the pie if you only use half of it. (at least, I don't think so!!).
