I cook a whole chicken breast in some milk and wizz it up with a handblender, it flakes really well. I have made cubes of mushroom sauce and tomato sauce that I mix with the chicken to moisten it, this with a selection of veg is great. I also made a beef stew, again the beef flakes well. DD also loves a homemade rice pudding, made with flaked rice, adsd some mixed spice and some sultanas.

I have also cooked white fish in milk, this also flakes well and can be used with the tomato sauce.

My hand blender seems to purify really well but is no good for making flakes. Should i put it in a blender instead?

id start with fish

lemon sole is good, has no bones

flakes of haddock are lovely too with mashed potato and a bit of cheese

mashed veg and gravy is good to get the taste of red meat

beef is good stewed, for ages and ages and ages then you can flake it

Ok so i made chicken and vegetable cassorole and blended it but is it supposed to go like thick soup? Shes only 6mth old so it's not a problem now but i thought it would be chunckier not slushy.

theres no need to blend
mash with a fork

IcingOnTheCake · 18/04/2007 16:22

Ok i will do that next time. I am waiting to see what her nappy will be like after chicken.

i LOVED weaning

seeing their wee face as they tasted something never tasted before

IcingOnTheCake · 18/04/2007 16:25

Oh the face she makes when you put yogurt in her mouth, its like she hates it but then opens her mouth for more!

nailpolish · 18/04/2007 16:26

kick legs like mad etc

I wanna give her pasta but not sure what to do it with. I don't want a rich sauce to give her with it.

nailpolish · 18/04/2007 16:29

do you have the teeny tiny pasta? cook it really well till soft and just mix with some vegetable puree, or even tiny bits of grated cheese, or gravy, or a mild cheese sauce, or creamy tomato sauce

i fyou are worried she will choke, mash the teeny tiny pasta with a fork
