Good grief... yes!!

Just think of the sell by dates on cottage pies in the supermarket.... a week ahead?

I sometimes do a batch of cooking on a Sat. for the followng week. For instance, a casserole for Tuesday, chilli con carne for Monday. If you cool it down and then put it in the fridge, it would be fine for 2-3 days.

I've lived to tell the tale!!

it will be fine...you can onloy re-heat it once though. We tend to keep most things about 48hrs in the fridge before chucking them and even then, they are probably still fine

Yes... i would only ever reheat it once. When I go away I live my husband a huge spaghetti sauce and he just takes out a portion and heats it up. Lasts 3 days...!
