converting cups to something i understand

ds is dairy intollerant so trying coconut milk rice pudding, found a lovely looking recipe on web but is american and all measurements are in cups?!?! no idea what that means - anyone know what they are in grams/ml/oz?

1 american cup is 8 fluid oz I believe.

cups even though are abstract in some ways are surprisingly easy in others. As long as the same cup, I normally use an old tea cup, is used for the measurements it should work out fine. so just fill your cup.....

A cup is 8 fluid ounces I think, I end up measuring out recipies I picked up in Australia in my measuring jug! At least until a nice friend of mine got m some cups
