DH has suggested we try it. I'm not sure about it.

Is that the new name for the cafe/restaurant in the main street on the left with sofas in the window and adjoining the deli? If it is - my friend's been a lot and says it's lovely and the staff were very friendly. We lived
in Shrivenham and really liked Farringdon.
If it's not that restaurant - sorry!

Not that one (but thanksanyway luciemule). It is the one that it totally and utterly pitch black. You are served by blind waiters and eat it the dark. Supposed to enhance the eating experience as you use your other senses more fully.

Nope - I now know it's definitely not the one I was on about then! Actually, I think that was Herbes or something. The one you're on about sounds very interesting though. Are the waiters actually blind or just blindfolded? I can imagine it working though as not seeing does enhance your senses - I'd go - have a nice time.

The waiters are actually blind. Obviously that makes it much easier for them to do the job as they won't bump into the tables etc. Has no-one been then.

I can't believe that not one single person on MN hasn't tried this place.

Herbs is brilliant - can't recommend it enough. It's staffed by the owners who are lovely.

chonky · 05/04/2007 08:41

sorry - I know you weren't after a pitch for Herbs

Have heard of it but never been. A quick google turns up loads of rather uncomplimentary reviews! Sounds like a triumph of concept over content?
