Am meeting up with friends and our DC tomorrow. I have offered to make a cake. Would like to make a sponge & have bought mini eggs & even some little fluffy chicks but am not very creative I'm afraid. What would you put on the top of the cake as in icing, cream etc?? I want it to look sort of Nigella ish please

I don't know about Nigella ish

But yellow butter cream? sort of roughed up at the sides and in concentric circles on top?

smear on roughly and make concentric cirle patterns with fork?

Follw the edge of the circle round with a fork the do it again a little bit closer to the centre & again & again

also, you could get flakes and flake them up and sprinkle on around the minni eggs/chicks to look like a straw effect.

That sounds lovely, I'm going to give it a go, thank you. Just waiting for Mr Tesco to deliver the ingredients for my cake now
