What shall I do with my slightly odd mango?

It was soft and slightly wrinkled but the inside is pale and not very sweet. Any ideas?

Oh, and can I freeze rehydrated sundried tomatoes?

OMG! I read that as FANJO!!

PeachesMcLean · 02/04/2007 20:04

LOL me too! couldn't work out what sundried tomatoes had to do with it!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 02/04/2007 20:04

Me too re fanjo... .. we are waaaaay to fanjo-orientated on here!

TooTicky · 02/04/2007 20:13

Weird buggers!

Anyway, the children have now eaten the mango, but can I freeze the tomatoes?

I have frozen s-d toms when cooked in something

don't know if you are meant to from a hygiene point of view

Ditch the mango IMO, life is too short to eat dodgy mangoes

TooTicky · 02/04/2007 20:15

Problem is, I don't know what to DO with the tomatoes!! I'm a sun-dried novice...

Have you rehydrated them already?

zippitippitoes · 02/04/2007 20:17

don't overripe mangoes taste horrid?

TooTicky · 02/04/2007 21:06

Yes, I rehydrated them yesterday.

Sorry Ticky but I have to ask

WHY?

FrannyandZooey · 02/04/2007 21:09

but being more helpful....

I think you could use them up in:

salads
chopped with puy lentils to make pate
risotto
pasta sauces
pizza sauces

Don't worry about mangoes and tomatoes!

What do you do with a slightly odd MARGO?

TooTicky · 02/04/2007 21:12

Erm, okay, I was clearing out a cupboard and discovered a bag of sdts which I bought about 3 years ago and didn't know what to do with. So I opened the bag and sniffed them and inspected them and they seemed fine so I poured hot water over them, then at bedtime I drained them and bunged them in the fridge. And I still don't know what to do with them.

LOL I normally do a small handful at a time, what possessed you?

Have you tried googling, I bet there are some odd sd tom recipes out there?

FrannyandZooey · 02/04/2007 21:22

any use?

TooTicky · 02/04/2007 21:36

Oooh, thank you. I think I just thought that once I'd opened the bag I ought to use them up quickly. Perhaps I should freeze them in little handfuls and then use at leisure...
Of course, the holidays is hardly the best moment to choose for culinary experimentation...

They are dried
I think they would survive a nuclear war

FrannyandZooey · 02/04/2007 21:41

or:

they go off quickly
I have been poisoning my family for years
