BREAKFAST/ MILK DILEMA

My DS has always been a nightmare feeder and has never had bfast. He downs 6 oz milk when he wakes up between 6-7.00 which he really enjoys but flatly refuses anything else apart from some dried cereal. He mostly eats lunch and tea but this can often be a bit of a battle.

I feel terrible letting him go until 12.00 without anything in his bellie and am considering dropping the morning feed or cutting back to just 2-3 oz but am worried about reducing his milk intake.

Any help at all would be appreciated-I am tearing my hair out! Middle

Just spotted this - middle how old is he?
If he is having a 6oz feed and then dried cereal later - it is sort of like a breakfast! Could it be that he is filling up on milk?
Have you tried a snack mid morning?

I think there was a thread about this the other week. My dd2 was the same, we have ended up cutting out her early morning bottle of milk which she really guzzled down (she has it at about 11 now) and she eats much more breakfast. we did this when she was about 14 months I think.

i dont know how old your baby is but if you have established feeding then i would look at dropping the morning bottle or if still a bit to young try putting the formula on the cerealand just offering water fisrt thing

We had this problem with dd when she was about 9-10 months old. We solved it by giving her water on waking, followed by breakfast, and then her first bottle about an hour after breakfast. We did the same with lunch and dinner. It worked immediately, as she ate a good breakfast on most days. She is now 18 months old and we still follow this pattern.
