Chocolate Crispy Cakes - being stupid

OK I'm at work, organising a shopping list for a party at teh weekend, and I have forgotton the ingrediants for Chocolate Crispy cakes. I know there are two versions, real chocolate and crispys, or syrup, cocoa and crispys. However I cannot for the life of me remember if in the 2nd version there is anything else I need. I have cocoa at home and some golden syrup, I need to buy crispys but do I need anything else??

Sorry to ask such a dim question, but delia is at home!!

I think butter goes in the non-chocolate version too.

Definitely butter in the second version. I've done that version with chocolate instead of cocoa as well and made VERY yummy crispie cakes!

Found some links for recipes and am going to try my first ever link...

here

It worked! And there is one here (at the bottom of the page)

Too many of the choccy fudgy ones with syrup may make you feel a bit queasy

I'm not going to be eating them MI!! They are fo the kids, honest It's just we have over 100 people coming so I thought I'd do a load of them, and cheat by buying the cheap Fairy cakes that are already iced. I am too busy to be baking cakes

But you are Cake Queen! Always rustling up a Miro out of Victoria Sponge, or a Henry Moore out of scones.

Am personally poring over borrowed copy of Domestic Goddess, and slavering repulsively without putting anything into practice.

That's the point MI but Nigella doesn't do crispy cakes Now if you'd asked me about some fancy pantsy thing, I'd be fine. But bog standard crispy cakes..... I was stumped

Personally I like the ones with Mars Bars best..... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Nigel Slater does, though.

I'll do you a swap - will head over to Chateau Crunchie and rustle up some crispy cakes, indeed TWO varieties thereof, and you can pop round to the Inferiority Complex and make a gingerbread orang-utang nestling in a fondant rain forest.

But nigella DOES do crispy cakes, need chocolate, butter, syryp and cornflakes. we love em. Use tiny paper cases and the mess is less too!
