I'm probably posting this in the wrong section but I'm just wondering what you guys have for breakfast or what you have as a "healthy breakfast"
I have two pieces of toast everyday and it dawned on me that I have 14 slices of toast a week!!!!!

Coffee first, then usually a piece of fruit and some cashew nuts a couple of hours after I wake up. Sometimes an almond croissant or other pastry.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 17/08/2017 21:03

Honey dew melon and a cup of tea. Can't stomach anything heavier first thing. If I don't need to eat first thing I like the New York bagel thins with cream cheese.

HeyMicky · 17/08/2017 21:07

Weekdays, a boiled egg and a lot of plain Greek yogurt.
Saturdays, smoothie to use up all the fruit before I do the shopping.
Sunday, toast and eggs in some form, maybe bacon or beans as well

HeyMicky · 17/08/2017 21:08

Pot, not a lot Blush

cliffdiver · 17/08/2017 21:12

Some of my breakfasts are below (I really dislike cereal).

Fried egg served with (frozen) spinach and a slice of wholemeal toast

A slice of wholemeal toast with peanut butter and another slice with marmite

x2 hard boiled eggs

Yogurt with uncooked porridge oats and blueberries

Coffee made with milk (no water) and 2 spoonfuls of honey (if I do not have time for breakfast)

Scrambled egg with mushrooms and chilli salt

Ryvita / wholemeal toast / scrambled egg with avocado

A cup of tea to wake up. Then either chopped fresh fruit with a couple of spoonfuls of pumpkin seeds and almonds or berries and full fat Greek yogurt. They tend to keep hunger at bay for quite a while.

GreengageJam · 17/08/2017 21:17

I have Greek yogurt with fruit. During the summer, I have fresh strawberries and raspberries, and in the winter I make compotes instead. I eat it every day and I feel all 'wrong' if I haven't had my morning yogurt fix. Grin

foodiefil · 17/08/2017 21:21

An omelette or overnight oats. Sometimes egg on toast

crazypenguinlady · 17/08/2017 21:23

Very occasionally I will have some cereal but most days I have toast with a pot of tea. It may not be the best breakfast but I enjoy it and keeps me going from 6.30am until about 11am when I have a banana. I mix up the toppings between various jams (strawberry, raspberry, apricot, etc), marmalade, honey, peanut butter and on the weekend, chocolate spread.

Paul O'Grady (in Lily Savage guise) talked about:

"A northern breakfast, a Blackpool breakfast - 20 ciggies and a pot of tea.."

I used to laugh at this, as my (non smoking) mother and grandparents were from Blackpool.

Personally, I have (4) Aldi economy weetabix. In my defence they are quite small.

rockshandy · 17/08/2017 21:44

Greek yoghurt with granola, sometimes with fruit and occasionally a drizzle of honey. This is my most common one because it is so easy to throw together.

Maybe twice a week I will have something that takes more time, like poached eggs and toast or scrambled eggs mushrooms and bacon.

Interested in some of the ideas here.

twinklestar2 · 17/08/2017 21:47

Usually 2 eggs scrambled

FelicityMarbles · 17/08/2017 21:50

Big smoothie every morning. Banana, frozen summer berries (Aldi) Greek yoghurt, almond milk. Yum.

Poppypooch · 17/08/2017 21:53

Coffee
I've never been able to eat a breakfast, even as a child, my stomach doesn't do mornings Grin

helpme85 · 17/08/2017 22:10

Peanut butter on linseed/soya bread (burgen) very filling. Or a boiled egg and same toast. Or porridge with either a teaspoon of peanut butter stirred in or a linseed/chia/goji mix on top.

glorious · 17/08/2017 22:19

Sourdough toast and butter, sometimes with marmite or avocado
Porridge with frozen berries or banana and cinnamon or cheese and herbs (I know this sounds horrible!)
Chia vanilla pudding along these lines www.thefullhelping.com/basic-raw-vegan-vanilla-chia-seed-pudding-step-by-step-instructions-and-recipe/
Leftovers Blush
Yogurt with berries and a sprinkling of granola or muesli
Overnight oats
Congee

Racheyg · 17/08/2017 22:22

Greek yogurt
Mixed berries
Flaxseed, sunflower seeds and goji berries on top

Racheyg · 17/08/2017 22:23

If I've exercised before
Protein pancakes

Butternutsqoosh · 17/08/2017 22:27

Punnet of strawberries with a tbsp of sugar night before, next morning half those and the lovely juice that the sugar enticed out mixed with natural yogurt - heaven, or a boiled egg...starving now 😄

Butternutsqoosh · 17/08/2017 22:27

Tsp not tbsp!

Ropsleybunny · 17/08/2017 22:27

Porridge, or shredded wheat, or toast, or granola with soy yoghurt and fruit.

WeAreEternal · 17/08/2017 22:35

Monday - Saturday I have Huel for breakfast.

Sundays I usually have either smashed avocado or mushrooms on toast, a tofu omelette or huevos ranchero (vegan style).

beela · 17/08/2017 22:38

I alternate between:

Porridge with raisins

Homemade granola & whole milk

Greek yoghurt & fruit

Sourdough bread with honey, or avocado, or scrambled egg

Pancakes and berries and maple syrup (when dc persuade me to make them)

Any of the above keep me going until lunchtime.

OnlyRose · 17/08/2017 22:42

I have toast or crumpets, with butter or Marmite. Or a piece of banana bread if I've baked some. Sometimes followed by a kiwi fruit and maybe strawberries too.
I usually have eggs and toast on Sundays.

doozeldog · 18/08/2017 06:32

Thanks for all your ideas! just read through the thread and it's made me hungry!! I'm going to try to make home made granola tonight but this morning I shall have some fruit and yogurt!!
